What is it with kids on there having this mob mentality going on? Seriously!
So, there's been a ton of shit going on in the glitter-filled sjw cesspool that exists on Tumblr. I'll recap some things that happened this year as I remember them:
- Earlier this year, Lemonteaflower, aka Ami, was accused of being... a less than savory person over the characters she drew (in my defense, I think she could've made an nsfw account so she could avoid all that, but still). That's all I can say right now.
- More recently, Plebcomics has been doxxed (or she had her info made public to begin with and people decided to take advantage of that? I dunno anymore, there's been conflicting stories on this). She's known for making anti-sjw comics based on her own experiences, and rather infamous because people always thought she was making strawman arguments. According to one source, some kids gave her boss pornographic messages and she lost her job to protect her boss' safety. But what really happened, I don't know, because again, there's been inconsistent testimonies regarding this.
- Kids on Tumblr gathering info about people making racist or bigoted comments, and then using that to call their bosses and get them fired. Last I checked, these are real people with real families, and what would happen if you lost your job and you needed your income to support your family or yourself? Think about that.
You're probably thinking, what is doxxing?
Doxxing is the act of gaining a person's personal information, whether by hacking, looking the person up on Google, or by social media like Facebook. The info gained, including but not limited to full name, street address, phone number, high school, or place of occupation, can be used to contact the victim irl via harassing phone calls, calling their high school or boss for whatever reason, or even meeting the person personally. This often leads to someone getting hurt, humiliated, fired, expelled from school, among other possible outcomes.
People on there, a lot of them are teens btw, actually think that doxxing is ok.
It may or may not be illegal depending on the jurisdiction of where you live, but it's certainly unethical. It poses too much of a risk of getting the wrong person's info. There may be someone making a fake account of someone to get revenge on them and make them look bad, and doxxers can use their info and get a real person seriously hurt.
I love Tumblr because of the artists and fandoms and shit. Not to mention Tumblr is the only place where I can actually post the more NSFW stuff I can't post here. However, I can't STAND the fact that there are actually huge ass groups of people on there that are willing to gain up on one person over a certain flaw and actively ruin their life, whether by anon hate, harrassment, death/rape/violence threats, or doxxing and getting someone fired or harmed irl.
It's like the fucking Salem Witch Trials all over again!
Sorry. Had to get this out of my chest. All this is really starting to irritate me big time. I came to Tumblr for the fandoms and art, NOT THIS!#tumblr #tumblrartists #sjw #sjws #socialjusticewarrior #socialjustice #wtfisthiscrap #rant #irritated #lemonteaflower #plebcomics
